Easyl Responsive Website
Easyl is a website for beginning artists to search for and view art tutorials. This site was designed to make it easier for artists to learn how to develop their creative abilities and find specific tutorials based on art form.
The Problem
Users are concerned with finding and viewing online tutorials while maximizing the free time they have to learn a new skill.
The Solution
The aim of the Easyl website is to help beginning artists find and view the tutorials for their projects quickly and easily.
Project Summary
I conducted interviews and created empathy maps to understand the users and their needs. A primary group identified through research was beginner-level artists who spend most of their time searching for tutorials.
This primary group confirmed initial assumptions about Easyl users, but research also revealed that time was not the only factor limiting users from finding the right tutorials. Other user problems included complex interfaces, lack of organization in filters, and accessing tutorials that suited beginners and their limited skill sets.
The Easyl website makes the process of finding and viewing art tutorials more efficient for beginning artists. It helps users stay on task and makes it easier to foster confidence in growing their creative abilities by giving them the resource necessary to discover how to build new skills designed for their level.
Working on the Easyl website from ideation to conception showed me the importance of empathizing with the user and putting their needs first. I learned that feedback, research, and retesting iterations can take a design from good to great.
